Louisa & Tom
9th August 2019
What a brilliant day Louisa and Tom had back in August last year at Pentney Abbey. One of my all-time favourite venues which for me, is just on my doorstep! Tom and Louisa don’t live locally so I felt even more privileged that they put that extra trust in me given that they weren’t familiar with suppliers in our area.
From the minute I met them both it was clear that they were bursting with love for one another and it was also clear how laidback, easy going and fun they were! Prior to the wedding we met up at Wells beach for a catch up and pre wedding shoot. Pre wedding shoots or sometimes known as ‘engagement shoots’ are the perfect way to practice before the big day. It not only allows us to get to know one another better but helps me understand what kind of photography the couple like. Not only that but it’s a great opportunity to talk all things Wedding, catch up with your plans for the day and help you feel a little more at ease in front of the camera!
The morning of their Wedding was as chilled as I predicted it may be. Louisa and her close friends and family were busy getting ready with the talented Stacie sorting everyone’s hair. What a fabulous supplier Stacie is! The girls (and billy!) made me feel welcome from the moment I walked through the door and the entire morning was spent laughing, singing and even occasionally dancing. A very laid back morning for a Wedding day!
The ceremony was held in the iconic gatehouse which is one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever shot in. It was filled with Louisa and Toms closest friends and family and was so special. Once the formalities were out the way it was time for confetti, canapes and bubbles! The weather was being a bit unpredictable that day (typical British weather!) so Louisa, Tom and I quickly nipped off for a few couple photos on the grounds, just in case the weather later in the day didn’t allow us.
As you can imagine, the rest of the day was super relaxed, super chilled and super fun. Louisa and Tom kindly included me in their Wedding breakfast and I had the most amazing ‘Posh Burger’ (thank you Louisa and Tom!). I also loved how Louisa and Tom also incorporated that they are both teachers. Their center pieces were bowls of lego and each table was tasked with making the coolest or most interesting centerpiece which, at the end of the meal would be judged by the couple. What a great way to get the guests interacting and break the ice on their tables!
Thankfully the rest of the day stayed relatively clear of bad weather, so we nipped out before the evening was underway to get some final golden hour shots. Thank you Billy for coming and being my assistant and for the hilarious photobomb (see below).
Neil from 2disco was Louisa and Toms DJ that night and he got the party going as always! Neil is a supplier I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many times now and who I would highly recommend to my future clients.
Overall, an epic day with awesome people and a gorgeous couple! Grab yourself a cuppa, sit back and enjoy!
